In this tense political climate, with information flying at us faster than we can process it, I find it extremely important that we, as white allies, check in with one another to establish best allyship practices. One of the most marginalized groups in our country is still black people. I thought it important we take a look at what it means to be black in America today. I'd like to discuss Ava DuVernay's documentary 13th (on Netflix - if you do not have an account, I am happy to provide my info) as well as Michelle Alexander's book The New Jim Crow. I hope you can watch and read and join!
